Objective of the project

Improving cleanliness of rural village landscapes and people's physical living environment.

Main activities

• Awareness rising Activities: - Carry out waste clean-up events in target villages (school competitions and public community events) - Create and run WasteLess Karelias online tools - Organize WasteLess Karelias Trash Art Festival • Activities related to waste management facilities and training: - Train target groups in waste management (sorting workshops, education events) - Design and construct local waste sorting stations in target villages • Activities related to feasibility and needs for waste management: - Assess the potential to improve waste management in Karelian communities (feasibility analysis) - Assess visual littering in village landscapes - Assess local waste handling procedures (infrastructure, regulation, local practices) - Evaluate local perceptions on littering, waste sorting and awareness - Collect local experiences of littering and best practices of coping with waste • Developing collaborative WasteLess Action Plans with local target groups to identify and manage local waste reduction, sorting practices and recycling capacities.
