Objective of the project
The objective was going to study the interest of food companies in the Kainuu region in eastern trade and the related development needs. A trade project between the food sector of Kainuu and North West Russia was going to be constructed on the basis of the project. As part of the feasibility study, existing eastern trade projects will be identified, and the experience and know-how of this project can be used in the implementation of subsequent projects. A follow-up project will build on this project, and will focus on diversified cross-border food trade and cooperation, which may include, for example, various subcontracting and manufacturing relationships as well as the export of know-how.
