Objective of the project
The objective of the project was to create tradable tourist products through a network of cooperating companies in the Karelia Interreg Programme region. Different tourist products will be tailored to different target groups and the best performer will be found for each product. The objective was to create a cooperation network of at least 20 companies working in the tourism industry. Cooperation agreements will be concluded with companies and municipalities throughout the Karelia Interreg Program area. The objective was to find the widest Internet system of sales, booking and communication for the needs of Eastern tourism. It was planned to open common sales offices in Petrozavodsk, Murmansk and St. Petersburg, as well as to study the possibility of carrying out charter flights from St. Petersburg to Joensuu, Oulu, Kajaani and Kuusamo. The objective was to double the number of Russian tourists during the project.
