The biofuel power in Kostomuksha, BIOKOS (KA408)

Objective of the project

The objective of the project was to build 0,6 MW biofuel plant based on gasification for the town of Kostomuksha. The plant produces heat and electricity in connection with the wastewater treatment plant for the town of Kostomuksha.

Achievements

0,6 MW heating plant is now working in Kostomuksha. The plant uses sludge and wood chips in heating. The project engaged experts and decision-makers from the energy utilities in the neighboring areas, thus disseminating useful and usable information on the operation of biofuel plants to the districts and cities of the Republic of Karelia.
