Objective of the project
The overall objective of the project was to continue and expand upon the activities of the completed Finnish-Russian Forest Academy Preparation project (ENPI SE400), with the aim of establishing a Finnish-Russian coordination centre for joint activities between Finland and Russia in education, research and business development in forestry and the forest industry, and with the aim of piloting joint activities.
Main activities
- To continue developing and strengthening the CONIFER -network by various activities.
Achievements
At the end of the project, the CONIFER network had 42 members. Network membership policy, membership application, information about the activities and publications distributed are available at www.conifernet.org. The project’s outcomes were, for example, nine research publications, two new research project proposals, a four-module training programme on bioenergy and a study on Russian investments to the foresting sector in Finland.
