Entrepreneurship Development in Gatchina District (SE499)

Objective of the project
The overall objective of the Entrepreneurship Development in Gatchina District project was to develop small and medium-sized enterprises in the Gatchina municipal district. The specific objectives were to 1) increase interest in business operations, 2) strengthen know-how in business operations and 3) identify and implement new innovations, privatization, production and commercialization in rehabilitative social care enterprises.
- Development partnership (Advisory Group for development partnership) among the partners to aggregate, strengthen and assure that the training programmes and the gained skills will be used and disseminated to strengthen entrepreneurship in Gatchina Municipal District. - Training programmes in 1) entrepreneurship and 2) preventive and rehabilitative social care consisting of training periods arranged in Gatchina Municipal District, tailored counseling, study visits and work shadowing in Finland, Mikkeli.
All the expected results of the project were achieved: 1) a development and training centre for the enterprises was established, 2) enterprise development training programs 1 through 4 were designed and carried out and 3) preventive and rehabilitative care training programs 1 and 2 were designed and carried out. There has been a development in small and medium-sized enterprises in the Gatchina municipal district. The volume of new enterprises in the Gatchina municipal district has increased during the project period. The know-how in business operations has strengthened, ten implementable business plans were developed and entrepreneurial skills were enhanced. Eight new enterprises and 20 new jobs were established with the support of this project. Information on the project can be found at www.businessgate.fi and at www.gatebusiness.ru.
