Objective of the project

The overall objective of the project was to spread practical information about the ecologically friendly practices in the public administration as well as in the organizations working on the regional level.

- Eco-support activities including trainings. - Launching the work of the Eco-Supporters. - Peer-to-peer and expertise networking of the Eco-Supporters. - Dissemination information of the outcomes. - Evaluation of significance of Eco-support Activity.

Achievements

The Project provided training to the ordinary workers and enabled them to become Eco supporters in their respective work places and thus be able to act to improve the ecologically conscious approach in the daily working practices. Project actors used the several websites in English and Russian as a main dissemination channels to distribute current information about the project and its objectives. Thematic brochures, leaflets and manuals were prepared and distributed to the project’s stakeholders as well as the general public. During the trainings and the workshops, information was also actively disseminated. Among the most significant final results of the implemented activities are the following: Basic as well as tailored trainings for the Russian eco-support activists in St. Petersburg totaling 104 trained ecosupporters; Manual and the info brochures as well as the leaflets in Russian that were produced and published; Distance training module for Ecosupport dissemination that was developed; Benchmarking visits which were conducted in several cities of Kymenlaakso as well as in Helsinki and also in Oslo concerning the developed Ecosupport activities and their applicability in the Finnish-Russian Cross-Border region. Energy efficiency testing in seven (7) real estates in Kymenlaakso region and one (1) in St. Petersburg as well as publication of the energy auditing report in English and Russian. Joint networks to serve local, regional and international needs of co-operation were created.
