Reconstruction of the road Kandalaksha-Alakurtti-Salla checkpoint (LSP_KO560)

Objective of the project

The project´s objective was to reconstruct a 30 km road section between Salla in Finland and Kandalaksha in Russia, and shorten the travelling time from Salla to Kandalaksha. It is a road that is central for border crossing between Northern Finland and Russia, and also between Russia and the European Union.

Main activities

The project has reconstructed a 30 km road section between Salla in Finland and Kandalaksha in Russia. In the project, the participants have also exchanged experience in road works and reconstruction.

Achievements

A 30 km road section between Salla in Finland and Kandalaksha in Russia has been reconstructed. The travelling time from Salla to Kandalaksha has shortened.
