Reconstruction of the Ihala-Raivio-State border road km14 – km28 (LSP SE772)

Objective of the project
The overall objective of the project was intensification of local and regional economic development by improving international transport connections in the border region by reconstruction of Ihala-Raivio road, km 14-28 which will have a positive impact on possible internationalisation of the Parikkala-Syvaoro BCP.
- Organization and holding tendering procedures for the selection of a contractor for the fulfillment of construction and assembly works; - Fulfillment of construction, assembly and other works according to the description given in clause 1.2.5 of the application. Technical supervision shall be exercised over the works within the work period according to the legislation of RF; - Final measures connected with issuing of reporting documents for the fulfilled project.
Objective was reached by the following activities: 1) Preparing of the final engineering plans; 2) reconstruction of the road, section km 14-28. All activities have been implemented, although part of the works had to be finalised after the project end which was 31.12.2014 (i.e works were finished in 2015) using own regional funds. The following works have been done: marking road alignments and edges; vertical profile improved; cutting trees, bushes, uprooting stumps; construction of the roadbed (3+3 m). Total road width - 10 m (IV class road); construction of the macadam sub-grade; reconstruction of the 700 m road section on km 21; construction of the lower and upper layers of asphalt; deconstruction and construction of artificial structures (incl new scales with the new software); road marking; road safety barriers installation. Official ceremony of the road opening was 19.11.2015.
