Reconstruction of the automobile BCP Svetogorsk (LSP SE775)

Objective of the project

Overall objective was facilitation of the state border crossing process, promotion of the regional competitiveness and growth of the social and economic potential and sustainable development of the border area by reconstructing of the ABCP Svetogorsk infrastructure.

Main activities

- Development and approval of design estimates for the construction (reconstruction) of the border-crossing checkpoint Svetogorsk. - Arrangement of a tender and selection of a contractual company for the performance of works for the construction (reconstruction) and development of the checkpoint Svetogorsk. - Construction (reconstruction) stage. Performance of works for the construction (reconstruction) and development of the BCP Svetogorsk. - Registration of property rights on facilities obtained during the previous stage.

Achievements

Objective was reached by the following activities: elaboration of design documentation on BCP Svetogorsk and on security system modernization, preparation of the ground (pavilions dismantlement and removal; Axle weight scales dismantlement, equipment for control services, protection for carriage of dangerous goods trucks (separate road lines, control pavilions, construction of 6 pavilions (border and customs control, annex to the checkpoint building for operation service, installation of the non-fixable processing equipment of pavilions, weight and dimensional complex installation, car inspection pit repair, transport and communications objects, water-supply, water disposal, heat and gas supply, outdoor networks and structures, area planning, landscape and shade gardening, BCP Svetogorsk security system modernization, commissioning works. This enabled to increase efficiency of the BCP work and synchronize operations of the checkpoint with the parameters of BCP Imatra. Due tocurrent economic situation the figures of passenger transport are unchanged and cargo traffic has decreased. BCP capacity was increased 2 times. Project border crossing capacity at the project end (thousand/year): total transport 753,7 (passenger cars 699,4, buses 7,3 and cargo trucks 77,02); one new lane for vehicles with dangerous goods, number of lanes in the BCP 13, average waiting time 40 min. Project resulted in comfort movement for the border regions inhabitants, reduce waiting time on the border, lessen pollution of the environment caused by queues of vehicles.
