Objective of the project

At the first stage of the project, the possibilities of using the Koitajoki River recreation area for tourism on both sides of the border was studied. Other project activities: coordination of border crossing practices in the Koitajokii River area, creation of a complete service development plan (taking into account information structures, campfire and berth sites, camping equipment, and the use of the EU´s eastern point in the product development on both sides of the border). In addition, it was planned to form tourism packages and cooperation networks, as well as improve the opportunities for tourism entrepreneurs through additional education.
