Product development, sales and marketing of rural tourism products and organic health services in Russia
Funded by Interreg II Karelia 1996-1999

Objective of the project

The purpose of the project was to diversify rural tourism products offered to Russians and expand sales networks. The project will support growth-oriented North Karelia companies in product development and networking, as well as in developing partnerships with other tourism-related industries. The main goal of the project is to organize the sale of accommodation services in cottages in Russia and create a sales network for North Karelian rural tourism products in the Republic of Karelia and in the St. Petersburg region. Sales organization requires companies to establish contacts at the manufacturer level. In addition, training for rural tourism enterprises is required to get used to the practice of commissions. The second goal of the project is to develop a new supplementary program service: a nature health service, in addition to the already existing programme and accommodation services. When creating natural health services, the features of the nature and environment of North Karelia, as well as Russian experience, are used. The project will initiate the process of forming a system of organic food services in the Karelia region on both sides of the border.
