Objective of the project
The objective of the project was to promote Orthodoxy and Karelianism as an integral part of the image of tourism in Eastern Finland. Apart from the tourist destinations in eastern Finland, the Republic of Karelia and especially the Valaam Monastery were among the most attractive destinations in the range of tourist products in Eastern Finland. In addition to product development, new investments, marketing and sales, the training of guides and staff in tourism destinations were planned to be an important project activity.
