Objective of the project

Idän Revontulet Oy (Northern Lights of the East) was engaged in timber harvesting, sawing and selling lumber, and wildlife tourism in the Republic of Karelia. The wood was purchased and sawn from the Paanajärvi joint venture, which sold clean pulpwood directly to Stora Enso factory in Kemijärvi. The center of tourism activity was the joint venture - the Tsipringa Tourism and Wildlife Center, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Zipringa Wilderness Centre. The center's tourism products included hunting and fishing trips. The Center could serve a group of 36 tourists at the same time. The objective of the project was to familiarize the company's employees with the activities of the Wilderness Centre and the Pääjärvi sawmill.
