Funded by Karelia ENPI 2007-2013

Objective of the project

The aim of the project was to promote the values and mechanisms of life-long learning for the professionals in the field of cultural industries and event management in the peripheral territories of the Republic of Karelia and Oulu region.

Main activities

• Assessment of training needs and demands. • Setting new networks for lifelong learning. • Development and organizing of in-service training courses, master-classes and seminars. • Piloting a model for student/youth festivals in the peripheral territories. • Best practice transfer.

Achievements

The project strengthened the cross‐border cooperation in the field of culture by promoting the values of life-long learning for the culture professionals. The project led to institutional capacity building in culture management and volunteer coordination in the ENPI Karelia Programme area. The network offering non-stop training services for the culture managers, based on the Finnish and Russian educational institutions, was created as a tool for further education of culture professionals working on both sides of the border. The participating universities and colleges also enjoyed the valuable benefits from the project. Having received new study modules, the educational institutions got a tool to attract new students. Also, the technical and educational facilities, such as the demonstration and training equipment, of the institutions taking part in the project were improved.
