KARELIAN ADVENTURES – Wilderness Activities in Finland and Karelia
Funded by Interreg II Karelia 1996-1999
Objective of the project
The objective of the project was to create a company network consisting of 12 companies operating in the Kainuu and North Karelia regions. The network was supposed to deal with international marketing and trade under a common brand and to include hotel and transport companies. All companies involved in the project operate on the territory of the Republic of Karelia. The key area supporting the sales and marketing was the research work by students of the Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The research was conducted based on the needs for marketing support, both of one company and the entire business network. The key principle of the KARELIAN ADVENTURES project was concreteness. The main work of the project was based on sales work, through which, after careful selection of the target group, the products of the companies should enter the national and international markets. Other project activities, including continuous product development, marketing research and the involvement of Russian partners, both at the state and private levels, were aimed at supporting this work.
