Objective of the project
The objective of the project was to continue the work of the Karelian Center, working in the Haapavesi technology village, until the end of 1999. Until the end of 1998 the Karelian Center received funding from Interreg Karelia. Its main idea is to create conditions for economic cooperation between Finland and Russia, as well as to support companies and various organizations participating in projects from Karelia and North-West Russia by exchanging information, knowledge and experience. In addition, the Center expanded the activities of companies and organizations in Russia with the help of specific service products. The main tasks of the Center are finding reliable partners on both sides of the border, clarifying the possibilities and requirements of trade and other economic activities in Russia, transferring information to companies on issues related to Russia, as well as planning business trips.
