Funded by Interreg II Karelia 1996-1999
Objective of the project
The objective of the project was to develop the exchange of information and communications of Kainuu with Russian customers and tourists. The project will prepare information in Russian about the services of local authorities and companies in the region. Information will be posted on web pages, brochures and other materials. Kainuu is visited by a large number of Russian tourists using the services of local companies. In addition, tourists can use the services of local authorities, but the problem is that information about the services of the Kainuu region is not available in Russian. In order to develop tourism, it is planned to develop various types of information services and additional tourist information. The main point in the implementation of the project was the creation of materials and the development of communication and marketing practices of public services in such a way that they are best suited for Russian clients. This requires consulting cooperation with Russian experts and service users. When creating Russian-language materials, it is important to find priority areas: development of materials, consultation with experts, training and advice. Much attention is paid to the development of information practices. In the future, there will be no need to use the media as information will be constantly available on the website and in updated products on CD. The material will also be available for the mass media of the Republic of Karelia, as well as in other regions of Russia. Information in Russian is planned to be disseminated, for example, at the Lutta-Vartius border point and existing information points in the regions.
