Increasing construction technology know-how and marketing in Russia
Funded by Interreg II Karelia 1996-1999

Objective of the project

The objective of the project was to establish contacts between companies in northwest Russia and construction companies in northern Finland, as well as help Finnish companies to promote their capabilities and knowledge in Russia. During the project, construction companies from northern Finland exported their knowledge of modern building materials and technologies to northwest Russia. At the first stage, the companies were presented with an overview of the current situation in the construction sector in North-West Russia, after which it was planned to build a building technology centre together with the companies. The main task of this centre is to promote knowledge about building technologies in Northwest Russia. The existing contacts are used in the organization and marketing of the Building Technologies Centre. Each participating company will present its knowledge and products in Petrozavodsk twice a year for two years in the hope of making the products and services of construction companies from northern Finland more popular in northwest Russia and starting economic cooperation between the two regions.
