Improvement of the Vyborg-Lappeenranta road (LSP SE776)

Objective of the project

The overall objective of the project was to reconstruct the Vyborg-Lappeenranta road inside the Saimaa canal territory and between Brusnitsnoje border and Finnish border in order to improve transport connections to the border crossing point.

Main activities

- To carry out the designs/plans for the needed infrastructure works (preparation); - To carry out necessary tendering procedures (preparation); - To carry out the infrastructure construction works (implementation).

Achievements

The objective was achieved by 1) carrying out the final designs/plans for the pavement rehabilitation, 2) carrying out necessary tendering procedures and 3) carrying out the paving and other works to improve the road. In the project, the road was improved by necessary road structure repairs and pavement rehabilitation with pavement markings. Due to these improvements, the traffic is now more fluent and the road safety is better.
