Improvement of Highway 6 and Highway 70 at the village of Onkamo
Funded by Interreg II Karelia 1996-1999

Objective of the project

The project was going to improve the intersection of the class I highway 6 and the class II highway 70 at the Onkamo village and build a pavement of 2,2 kilometres next to the Tohmajärvi-Värtsilä class II highway. The project was also going to include the extremely difficult protection work of the ground water at the intersection point of the highway 6. The project was going to ensure the fluency and the security of the traffic at the intersection and remove the problems the pedestrian traffic at the Onkamo village.
