Functional Families-Evidence Based Welfare Models for Family Work in Finland and Karelia (KA427)

Objective of the project

The objective of the project is to build initial capacity for family work in the Republic of Karelia and Oulu Region under the Functional Children and Families Scheme ("Effective Families").

Main activities

• Workshops and a study tours in Finland and Karelia. • Trainings in Karelia and Finland on Functional Children and Families Scheme. • Support and monitoring to the training of Functional Children and Families Scheme and its transferability. • Collecting the key materials and joint publishing of key outputs of the project.

Achievements

The project has consolidated a base of Functional Children and Families Scheme knowledge and further training among the project partners in Karelia - in Finland it already existed. Altogether 35 persons were trained in Karelia as planned and 18 of them were certified as trainers, Child welfare indicator system with a special focus on family work as well as cultural sensitivity in family work enhanced in Oulu Region and in the Republic of Karelia by means of information exchange. Joint publication of the project proceedings and other relevant papers in electronic or paper form were prepared and are available to the partners and associated partners of the project with the aim of multiplier effects and mainstreaming of the project outputs in standard family work.
