Efficient Energy Management (SE693)
Funded by South-East Finland - Russia ENPI 2007-2013

Objective of the project

The aim of the project was to develop a multistage practical program which supports energy efficiency actions especially for existing public building stock (could be applied also to other buildings) in St.Petersburg. The program was based on results of pilot buildings representing typical public buildings from 50`s to 80`s (schools, kindergartens, health centers etc).

Main activities

- The development of the Energy Efficiency Platform (EEP) and collection of relevant training materials. - Pilots of the energy efficient building and development of measures taken for monitoring. - The preparation of studies and surveys concerning the results of the energy efficiency audits. - Benchmarking and energy audits of the selected buildings in Finland and in St Petersburg. - The creation of the General Regional Heating Energy Efficiency Assessment Model (REEMod) and the General Regional Energy Efficient Assessment Criteria for Housing Areas (REECrit).

Achievements

The energy efficiency audits were carried out in the pilot buildings that were built from the 1950's up to the 1980's. In the framework of the project, energy efficiency measurement tasks and monitoring actions were conducted. Several scientific articles were prepared and published during the course of the project. Important information was stored in the Energy Efficiency Platform (EEP) that was created as an output of the project. Information about the activities was available through the project’s website and EEP as well as at the workshops and conferences in Finland and in Russia.
