Development of waste management in the White Sea Karelia

Objective of the project

The objective of the project was to study the possibility of using the knowledge and technologies of Finnish companies and experts in the development of waste management in the White Sea Karelia. In the course of the project, Finnish experts, companies and authorities developed a broader plan for how the Finnish side could provide expert services in the field of urban waste management in the White Sea Karelia. For the companies participating in the project, a detailed development strategy was formed, including the measures necessary to enter the Russian market. The project will be used to open new markets for companies and ensure the sustainability of their activities in Russia. The results of the project will be used for the development of the waste management system in Karelia in the coming years and, thus, for the promotion of environmental health, health care and tourism.
