Development of Russian trade training modules for SMEs

Objective of the project
The objective of the project was to design flexible training packages (education modules) and to create a network of experts servicing the modules. The training modules were meant for companies involved in the Russian trade or the ones planning of becoming involved in it, for the Russian grocery industry projects and for authorities. The training modules were going to be swiftly bookable, one to two day education events, tailored for each participating company and concentrating on the special questions of the Russian trade. The project was trying offer topical education services if needed and which were going to be as comprehensive as the customers wanted. The know-how of the entire North Karelia region was going to be used in the executing of the modules. Education and consulting packages were going to be designed for the companies, taking into account the current situation of the companies´ exports and imports and their earlier experience of Russian trade. As the result of the indention of the expert network and the joint education design, the teachers were going to know better the services, which different consulting firms were offering at the time, and were going to be able to direct the participating companies to right experts. By adding the Russian actors to the established network, the availability of topical information was going to be improved and the cross-border cooperation increased. In addition, a leaflet about the available education and consulting services to the companies was going to be produced during the project. The project was going to ensure the quick availability, the profitableness, the flexibility and the quality of the services. Additionally, information was going to be shared between the companies from the Republic of Karelia and the business life of eastern Finland in order to develop and maintain the cross-border trade. Project partners included research and education institutes, company service organisations and authorities from Russia and Finland. The main partner was going to be the training centre KarelNOK in the Republic of Karelia. In addition, the cooperation with tariff and tax authorities was going to be increased.
