Development of rural tourism in Karelia and St. Petersburg

Objective of the project
The objective of the project was to promote rural tourism by creating and developing a variety of travel packages for small groups of the solvent population of Russia and the beginning of cooperation between travel companies in order to offer travel services for tourists from the Republic of Karelia, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The project will select about 10 travel agencies in each region to work with to build strong relationships. Kalevi Lämsä Oy will operate on the Finnish side as a travel organizer. The services of the project will be connected to the booking system of Pehmo-Kuusamo Oy, through which travel agencies for clients will be selected. Within the framework of the project, it was planned to establish cooperation with the Russian project for vocational training of the Oulu Business College, as well as with the nature tourism project of the Updating Education Centre of the University of Oulu.
