Development of construction and real estate sector education (SE502)

Objective of the project

The overall objective of the project was to improve availability and quality of adult education in the sectors of construction and real estate, in St. Petersburg by supporting sectoral modernization and development of new adult education programs and pedagogy and by strengthening of institutions providing adult education through the new, modernized, work-life oriented and competence-based training modules.

Main activities

- Conceptualizing adult education (1 activity) - Development and dissemination of educational materials and methods (8 activities) - Improving the image and trademarks of adult education in the field of construction and real estate (1 activity)

Achievements

The objective was reached by planning of the concept for a joint adult education center, implementation of two pilot training projects, by completing the comparison of the Russian and Finnish training programs in terms of theoretical and practical qualification requirements. Project prepared four training programs for construction workers and three for supervisors. Project also updated and translated into Russian digital instruction material (DigiRatu). The concept for a joint adult education center completed. Concept based on the Vocational Adult Education Centre in Finland, and this provided a practical model for the classrooms and training facilities to copy into force in Russia. Project partners took part to and organized several meetings and events to enhance the brand value of the training programs developed. In addition to its main objectives the project has cooperated closely with ENPI co-funded project LENEDU that may increase sustainability of the funded actions.
