Creating photo books on the history of Russian weapons
Funded by Interreg II Karelia 1996-1999

Objective of the project

Oulun asepaja Oy (The Arm Forge of Oulu) was mainly engaged in the production of old weapons and organized weapons fairs every year. The company had a stable client base. The project was planned to create two photo books on the history of Finnish weapons. The books will detail the development of certain types of weapons from the late 19th century to 1947. There were no similar works in Finnish. The books were planned to be sold at the forge. The work with illustrations and collection of archival materials took place in St. Petersburg; the work would be carried out by a group of four people. The book was planned to be printed at the local printing house in the city of Oulu.
