Objective of the project
Increasing the knowledge about problems, prevention and eradication methods of invasive alien species to the people, organizations and government officials on the both sides of the border.
Main activities
• Constructing data sharing infrastructure and portal to Karelian research centre and updating Finnish portal by adding information and images on species relevant to programme area. Disseminating results and rising awareness about data sharing among researchers, authorities and citizen. • Establishing Best Practice network and developing joint principles based on most recent studies and local expertise. Rising awareness of Invasive Alien Species by disseminating knowledge and Best Practices of their eradication. • Testing the knowledge exchange and eradication methods in practice to collect more data, educate volunteers and students (incl. post-graduate students) to ensure continuity of collaboration, by promoting citizen sciense in data collection.
