Objective of the project
The main objective of the project is to increase and develop logistics competence to Barents' business. This is emphasized by developing and deepening educational and reseach co-operation on academic and business levels between Finland (Univeristy of Oulu), Sweden (Technical Univeristy of Luleå) and Russia (Artic Center) in the field of logistics. A specific objective of the project was to deepen the knowledge and interest in Barents business and culture among Finnish and Sweden university students and personnel among companies and to collect, analyze and compare experiences in cross-border business operations in the Barents Region. A specific objective professional development: The project increases the level of the logistics competence/know-how by means of education and applied research. It also increases the level of intercultural competence by transferring foreign experience in different ways.

Achievements
The project has widened the knowledge of the Barents business among students in international logistics, managers for logistics in companies, regional authorities, and development organisations. Thus it has facilitated cross-border business. The project has also resulted in three doctoral studies.
