Barents Cultural Co-Production Network (KO188)

Objective of the project

The overall objective of this project is to promote cooperation and communication between cultural institutions, to support cultural diversity and identity building of the Barents Region. The project will establish a co-production network between institutions and support the co-operation between cultural producers and managers. The creation of a multilateral co-production network will in the long-term, stimulate and increase the number of joint events and meeting places, and the number of cultural consumers and visitors of cultural events and artistic productions.

Main activities

In meetings, seminars and internal communication, the project has charted areas of interest for cultural co-production, and identified partners and associates of long-term co-production networking. The project has develop a practical program in order to support cultural management and mutual cultural co-production in the Barents region during the years 2012-2015. The project has proposed activities for long-term cultural co-operation to promote cultural diversity and strengthening the cultural identity of the Barents Region.

Achievements

The project has created a network of new contacts, mutual fields of cooperation and concrete multilateral projects between cultural and artists’ institutions, organizations and entrepreneurs. One central result is the project plan “New Horizons” that has been financed later in the framework of Kolarctic ENPI. The individual contacts between the participants have contributed to an exchange of knowledge and of creative ideas and artistic production.
